Received this firm's info from the tenants association after my landlord refused to return my deposit and trumped up some ridiculous charges for damages to the apartment I left in pristine condition. I worked with Starr, Bejgiert & Rowells while dealing with an issue where my landlord gave permission to sublease my apartment, but the building's condo association wouldn't allow it. The team was very helpful and took as much time as necessary to explain all my options and ensure I fully understood everything. I'm happy to say my situation was quickly resolved, and the condo association backed down. After it was resolved, they even offered great advice on how to arrange a contract for subleasing the apartment.

I didn't hire anyone but talked to Dave over the phone for consultation. He went over all the details and my option and was extremely helpful and did it for free. I really appreciate his help and if I hire an attorney for an eviction case I will definitely hire him. He was very knowledgeable and was a good listener too.

If I could give TEN stars, I would! I was served with a 5-day Notice from my landlord, so I diligently researched eviction lawyers on Yelp. I contacted several lawyers, but I was most impressed by Starr, Bejgiert & Rowells. They were very informative on the phone and had a great demeanor, so I decided to hire them.

At first, I was hesitant about not having the opportunity to work directly with one of the partners, but as soon as I met with the team at Starr, Bejgiert & Rowells, I knew I was in good hands. They were very patient in explaining all of my options, the pros and cons, and carefully listened to my concerns. My landlord didn’t serve me properly, the unit was illegal, and I was behind on rent. With all that in mind, we tried to settle the case. My landlord was greedy and stubborn, so we had to go through the court system twice. I had to pay Starr, Bejgiert & Rowells twice as well, but it was worth every penny. They convinced my landlord’s lawyer to settle the matter by educating her, lol. In the end, I decided to move out since the unit was unsafe. I also chose not to countersue my landlord for the illegal unit and just counted my blessings. After all, I did not have to pay the past due rent, was able to move out in a timely manner, and my case was resolved.

I should add that when the representative from Starr, Bejgiert & Rowells was busy in court, the receptionist and assistants were all very courteous and helpful. They were also very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Starr, Bejgiert & Rowells.

There was some water damage, but that was because the landlord had 40-year-old windows that leaked like crazy. I was hesitant to go the legal route, but I'm glad I did.
